Thinking… Which always leads to trouble

•November 4, 2009 • Leave a Comment

For the last months (about 2-3 months) I have be debating wether or not to go back to school and get a computer science or electrical engineering or JD degree. But lately I have been leaning towards the first. Can you imagine if I had a CS degree with my Criminology degree. That would be pretty cool.

I still haven’t heard from one job I applied for. Hopefully soon, I hate not have a true job.

Its been awhile…

Sorry for not keeping this really up to date of late.

Have been really busy and haven’t had true internet connection but after sometime and a little work. I have a nice internet connection while I am in Eugene.

I am still trying to figure out what to do this wordpress blog. I would like to keep it somewhat personal but also provide insights to cool things that I am doing and information that is useful to the average user and more advanced user. Plus I want to add a sandbox that I will connect to this sight to adobe projects that I am learning.

I have decided that I will mainly post about article reviews, thoughts and tech stuff mainly little off main stream stuff.

The first topic mainly about iPhone etc. So look forward to that.

Weekend update

What a great way to end the week with great food and family. Always a pleasure to enjoy an hour or so out a chaotic week. I think people need to actually sit down and eat at a leisurely pace to enjoy the taste/flavor/texture and ambientance (sp?) of the food and the company you enjoying the food with.

Like a great chef as repeatedly said one great sign that the food is great is the silence and the sounds of one eating.

This weeks training was pretty hard, due to the heat. The heat just zaps any energy that one has. It doesn’t look like its going to cool down anytime soon.

Right now, I’m laying down taking a siesta. I must say a much needed one. The last few days have been very warm around 90 or so.

Training is going great, power numbers are climbing. A great way to start winding the season down. I have about 6 weeks left of training. Then take a month off and then get back to the grind.

I might be working in a few weeks doing some consulting and mentoring. But have to see how it works out. I will write more about it later.

People watching is always an interesting activity to partake in. I think my interest social sciences always comes thru well observing a person interacting in a public setting.

Some of the best people watching I think happens in coffee shops, bars or at malls.

Human behavior has and probably will always interest me. You can not always predict a persons action you can have strong probability what s/he does but the outcome may not always be the same. There will always be varitions small and large.

This weekend has been pretty busy with training and commuting back and forth from Silverton and Woodburn. Yesterday wasn’t to bad 5 hours on the bike and then I was home for the rest of the day. Today was 3 hours on the bike 40 mins to Woodburn, small tour of places, then 25 mins to Silverton, stop and check things out. Then 25 mins to Woodburn then 1 1/2 hours back to Portland due to traffic.

All this made for a long tiring day that started at 6am. However, I am stronger in always for it.

I want to say congrats to my friend J. Smith on her engagement and hopefully I’m invited :) Everyone is getting married or having kids. Crazy.

Tiddly-Winks

•July 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

“To be a cyclist is to be a student of pain….at cycling’s core lies pain, hard and bitter as the pit inside a juicy peach. It doesn’t matter if you’re sprinting for an Olympic medal, a town sign, a trailhead, or the rest stop with the homemade brownies. If you never confront pain, you’re missing the essence of the sport. Without pain, there’s no adversity. Without adversity, no challenge. Without challenge, no improvement. No improvement, no sense of accomplishment and no deep-down joy. Might as well be playing Tiddly-Winks.”

5 hours

•July 12, 2009 • 1 Comment

Today I put some work on the bike. 5 hours to exact. I have never put in 5 hours on the bike.

I was a great ride with some climbing. Mostly cloudy stayed below 74 for the entire ride which was good.

I am getting stronger and I can feel it. Even after 4 hours I can still put out close to FTP for 45 mins.

I remember a quote from running but don’t really know who said it.

The long run puts the tiger into the cat.

Enjoy The Silence

•July 11, 2009 • Leave a Comment

While on the bike today Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode came into my head and it was stuck there for a while. Its one of my favorite Depeche Mode songs and I actually talk a little about it on 94.7 KNRK during my Perfect Playlist with Gustav.

Sometimes it just good to do something without any noise around or someone talking. Its the same way I work. I do enjoy having background noise during some of the work but other times its just becomes overwhelming and you just need a break from it.

I do turn of my iPhone or I just leave it in the other room for awhile so I’m not twittering, texting or emailing. Its just nice to sit and be still and not be connected sometimes…
